Interview – ‘On the side of the outsider’
Those good people at the Inverness Courier recently ran an interview with yours truly.
It’s a bit of a freewheeling wander: how I started writing, my early and failed attempts at plagiarism and where I got inspiration for A Private Haunting and The Stillman, as well as the importance of a strong sense of place in creating the right narrative mood, the theme of ‘the outsider’ in both novels, and the disturbing voyeurism of the media. Then there’s the fun and weirdness of working to a Krautrock soundtrack and what I’m currently working on. You can check it out here.
Just try not to be too perturbed by the giant face looming out at you…
